Java Game Developer - Minecraft

The Minecraft: Java Edition team is expanding to help realize our dream of a better Minecraft experience. As a member of this team, you will have the unique challenges of helping to design and implement gameplay systems, allowing our incredible community to realize their creations using mechanics and technologies that you created, and improving the performance and stability of the game.

As the founding team of Minecraft, we are 10 developers working on a game enjoyed by over 100,000,000 players worldwide. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with game designers, producers, artists etc. creating the best experience possible for our players. Our studio has big dreams for the future of Minecraft and need you to help make them happen!

Some of your responsibilities will be:

• Implementing features for upcoming Minecraft gameplay updates
• Be involved in design discussions related to the vanilla Minecraft experience and helping to define the direction of future updates
• Soliciting feedback from all teammates and engaging in collaborative discussion.
• Helping to refine the team’s quality process, including adding new types of test automation, refining the workflow and build process, and documenting architecture and features.
• Helping more junior team members level up in both professional conduct as well as programming practice.

Requirements

• Experience with Java programming or game development.
• Ability to work with large codebases.
• You are knowledgeable and passionate about games
