Mobile Platform

The Mobile Platform team within Core Engineering is responsible for making mobile development a first class experience at the firm. We aim to accomplish this by providing developers at Goldman Sachs with a secure, compliant, industry-aligned, mobile-focused portfolio of products in the form of SDKs, libraries, and services, so that teams can reduce app delivery time, reduce maintenance cost and focus on their core offerings. This platform is aimed at improving the overall velocity and stability of all mobile products within the firm.

This is a key engineering role within the team to support rapid development and expansion of the platform. The role involves working closely with multiple product teams inside the firm, understanding requirements and driving feature delivery. This is an engineering leadership role that will suit a technologist with strong mobile development experience, a passion for customer success, as well as a focus on the software development lifecycle and technical hygiene. You will be working as part of a global, multi-disciplinary team responsible for researching, architecting, and building cutting-edge tools, libraries, and services for Engineers across Goldman Sachs as well as promoting best practices. You will directly help to implement and influence technology strategies that will give our business a competitive edge and influence the next generation of our mobile apps.

• Manage and mentor engineers on the team
• Help to communicate and promote best practices for mobile application development across the firm

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience with at least 2 years of management experience
• S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
• Knowledge of at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android)
• Mobile app or framework development experience with Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, or Android Java
• Experience debugging issues and unearthing the root cause of issues
• Experience developing distributed services
• Experience with the software engineering lifecycle including unit testing, code reviews, automated deployments, app signing, test automation etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product leads, and executive level stakeholders
• Comfort with agile operating models

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java development
• Experience with AWS
• Experience supporting apps deployed to the iOS App Store or Google Play Store
• Experience with Javascript, Typescript, or GraphQL
• Experience with React Native or Flutter is a plus
