We are currently building the web-based video platform Accurate Video, that is used within the media and broadcasting business. Our tools help our customers to manage quality control, marketing, editing and automatic adjustments and AI services.

Working as a UX Researcher

At Codemill we work in agile teams with focus on usability and sustainable, well-coded solutions. Your responsibility as an UX Researcher is to ensure that user and customer needs are properly researched, documented and understood by all product teams so that we can deliver better solutions to their problems. A big part of the staff has UX knowledge and work as UX Designers or UX Developers, but this will be our first UX Researcher position. This job involves (but are not limited to):

• Together with the team, defining and setting up a UX research strategy (gathering, storing, and disseminating research data).
• Participating in customer meetings.
• Qualitative and quantitative research with end users.
• Defining user types (personas).
• Documenting and sharing user workflows and needs.
• Communicating customer requirements and user needs continuously with stakeholders, designers, & developers.
• Supporting PMs with feature prioritization & scope.
• Participating in ideation sessions and evaluating ideas for new solutions.
• User testing of new and existing features (internally and externally).

You will report to your Team Manager and together you will have regular follow-ups to make sure that you are satisfied with your work situation and have the opportunity to develop your competence. You will have close communication with your teammates and in these pandemic times we are using digital technologies to maintain our good collaboration.

Your qualifications

For this position we are looking for someone with at least a few years of experience within the UX field. We prefer that you have worked close to customers and end users and that you have used different methods to gather research data. One of the most important things is that you find the video- and media business interesting and want to build great things together with us.

It’s preferable if you have an academic background within for example Interaction Design, Information Systems or Behavioural Science. As a person you should be service-minded and proactive, curious to learn new things, enjoy collaborating with others and willing to share your knowledge.

About the position

This position is full-time and can be performed fully remote or from the office. We have our main office in Umeå but we have learned to work in a distributed way during the pandemic. We have flexible working hours and the opportunity to work with the latest technology.

There is no defined starting date yet but we will start interviewing for this position in August.
