Embedded Linux OS Developer

Are you looking for an exciting challenge, working with next generation of our state-of-the-art electronic defence systems used in our air, naval and land-based products? Join us as we are growing within development of Linux-based OS's for embedded systems, a critical link between our HW solutions and SW applications.

Who are you?

Your interests are in the area where SW meets HW, connecting the two, bringing up new boards and making the best OS customized for a specific need. You know both how to find new information and solutions on your own when needed, as well as working in a small fast-paced development team with high interaction. Solving technical challenges is a major part of what you like, but also to describe, collaborate and help the people in the teams and projects receiving your solutions.

We believe you:

* Have a higher education in a relevant subject, for instance in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
* Get excited working in one or more of the areas: Linux Kernel, C, Python, driver development and board bring up
* You are familiar with Yocto, Linux drivers, Jenkins and Git
* Have an understanding and experience of agile development
* Are fluent in Swedish and English, verbally and written
* Take pride in your work
* Are curious in your colleagues and new technology

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

What you will be part of

In our area within electronic defence systems at Saab you will have 100+ SW development colleagues. Within this SW department you are then specialized depending on your expertise and product niche, with final results then used in for instance the Gripen system. At Saab we have a long history of products used all around the world for a long time, as well as future-looking R&D and prototypes for next generation. The complexity changes depending on if you are young and talented straight out of school, or if you have 20+ years of experience within similar fields.
