System Developer for Governance of Simulator Models

We are looking for a system developer with programming skills and a genuine interest in configuration management and documentation, who will Govern Simulator models, as well as Processes and Documentation within Aircraft Simulation.

Your role

As a System Developer within the Aircraft Simulation Model Governance Team you will be part of a team handling governance of models, tools, processes and documentation for the aircraft simulation of the Gripen aircraft. The team supports and maintains continuous integration and delivery of software artefacts to different simulator platforms for different customers. Configuration management, software development, information security, testing and communication with developers and simulator users, are part of the team's work.

You will be working with:

* Maintain and produce different types of documentation and processes
* Use and develop tools that support the team's undertaking
* Troubleshoot and maintain software for automatic builds and test systems
* Providing course material and educating simulator users and developers within Gripen Simulators, Training and Support
* Software quality

Your profile

We are looking for someone with technical skills, as well as a genuine interest in configuration management and documentation. Being a team player and technical curiosity is important since you will be working in a creative and complex environment. You will work both independently and in close cooperation with colleagues and customers within Saab.

You like teamwork, variation and challenges. You are a flexible and open-minded person who has a positive approach to solving challenging problems. You believe it is important with communication and having things in order.

It is qualifying to have knowledge and experience of:

* C, C++, Python programming languages
* Jenkins build server
* Git version control system
* Atlassian tool suite (Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira)
* Scrum, Kanban
* Simulators, simulator systems and modelling
* Writing technical documentation in English and to be able to present it pedagogically
* Technical leadership (experience or ambitions)
* Suitable education is Master/Bachelor of Engineering/Computer Science, or similar.

This position implies work that handles classified information, and therefore it requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

What you will be a part of

You will be a part of the Saab Department of Simulator, Training and Support that work with development, system design, integration, and support of simulators. The department is responsible for the aircraft simulation of Gripen, used in all simulators. The aircraft simulation is state-of-the-art, extremely advanced and is to be regarded as a complete virtual aircraft. We are currently working with developing technology for the next generation of our simulators. We are striving for continuous improvement of our competence, way-of-working and new solutions.
