Data Warehouse DevOps Engineer

Job purpose:

SKF is on a Digital Transformation journey where the key capability is Information and Data.

In this role you will be part of a team that support business stakeholders in this journey by building a foundation to provide solutions needed to become an Information/Data driven company.

Interested? Are You the one to help SKF evolve in the BI/DW area?

This would mean that you:

• Partner with business to understand requirements and functionality needed

• Drive Proof of Concepts in collaboration with Business stakeholders and suppliers

• Develop solutions using Agile methodology (SCRUM like)

• Manage solution tests: unit testing, integration testing and UAT

• Manage Transition to production

• Work with Operational solution maintenance

• Create new / Improve current data structures and data pipeline performance

• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in end user and support questions

• Safeguard and help to continuously refine SKF’s Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse solutions by benchmarking and keeping track on best practices and new trends

Key responsibilities:

o Application & technical platform solution testing

o Move to production

• Operational activities

o Application & technical platform solution maintenance

o Application & technical platform and process solution support

• Drive and contribute to BI/DW innovation

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of technical higher education or equivalent in the area of Computer Science

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience of Data Warehouse developing including all or parts of

o Programming languages (C#, PL/SQL, XML, C, C++, Java etc)

o Database (SQL Server, SnowFlake, SyBaseIQ, AWS RedShift etc)

o Development environments (MS Visual Studio.Net, C-sharp etc)

o Technologies (ODBC, Stored Procedures, linked servers, XML etc)

o ETL / ELT (Informatica, Talend, IBM, SSIS etc)

• Knowledge and at least 3 years of experience of developing and maintaining

o SQL Server

o SnowFlake

o Cloud data warehousing (like RedShift)

o SSAS, SSRS and SSIS

o Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud etc

• Excellent metadata modelling skills

• Methodology knowledge such as RUP and SCRUM is a clear advantage

• SAP BI (BW and/or BO/SAP Analytics Cloud) solution experience is good
