Storage Engineer with a desire to develop - File access and NAS

Scania IT assists the Scania Group with system development, IT operations and infrastructure. Our mission is to provide the global Scania business with innovative and robust IT solutions. Scania IT has about 900 employees and is represented in Sweden, Holland, France, Belgium, Latin America and India.

Base Infrastructure at Scania IT consists of areas such as Storage & Virtualization, Mainframe, Datacom and Directory Services. We supply solutions and services to support Scania's global operations.

Our Storage & Virtualization group is currently looking for a colleague who wants to work on developing and managing our solutions within file access and Network Attached Storage (NAS).

Your duties
As a specialist in file access and NAS, you will work on technical management and development in the area.

You will be part of dedicated NAS team and work in close cooperation with colleagues within Storage & Virtualization and also with other groupings at Scania. You will contribute your skills to projects and assignments. In daily operations, you will work on improvements and incident and problem management.

We work continuously to develop, improve and streamline our technical services. We see tremendous development in the area of file storage, which presents demanding requirements for new creative and reliable solutions. EMC product portfolios represent a large part of our services building today. Our development in the area is expansive so other vendors, products and technologies could be added or excluded, depending on our needs and your contribution.

Your profile
You will have documented IT experience, preferably on large environments.
You likely have a degree in Computing / IT at university level.
You will also have experience from larger NAS installations.

It would be an advantage if you also have knowledge of and an interest in areas such as Block Storage, Virtualization (VMware/KVM), Object Storage, Data Protection, Windows and Linux client OS, LDAP, Active Directory, Cloud Services and networks.

To achieve continuous improvement and updated environment you need to have the ability of monitoring, checking performance and work proactively.
You are familiar with using vendors tools and working with scripting, preferably Bash, PowerShell or Python for automation.

You will have an organised approach to work and will enjoy working together with colleagues in a team, but can also take on independent responsibility and manage your own issues. You will be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
