We are now looking for an “Application Developer Specialist” to join our Digital Channel Platforms team.


Who are we?

Our Solution Center Volvo Trucks Retail within Volvo Group IT has the end-to-end responsibility for all development, delivery, and support of IT solutions for the whole Volvo Group. We enable a multitude of end-user services ranging from dealer management & productivity, e-commerce to platforms for digital channels (external public web presence and extranet/portals). As our ‘Application Developer Specialist’, you will lead the way of Volvo Groups' extranet portals part of the Digital Channel Platforms team. You will work in a global environment that provides opportunities to develop yourself both professionally and personally. Our team is based in Gothenburg and in China and you will get the opportunity to work in an agile surrounding on an exciting journey where we are about to transform the digital experience for all our end users.


Role description

In this role you will mainly work with our Volvo dealer portals, but also with other related applications within our maintenance & support team. You will team up with solution architects, business analysts, solution and delivery leads in our agile release sprints to design solutions for our dealers, suppliers, internal users visiting our portals.

The portals mainly use .NET Framework (C#) with a SPA client.

Other applications use VB, .NET, WebForms and a range of DB technologies ranging from plain SqlCommands or Linq2sql to EF Core.


Expected skills:

We believe that our new colleague has a university degree in computer science or another related field. We think you have a few years of experience in a similar role and preferably experience as lead developer.

Also:

  • Experience of .NET/Visual Studio/TFS/SQL Server
  • Experience in JavaScript frameworks (TypeScript) SPA clients and css
  • Good if you have experience with OAUTH and message queue integration
  • Positive if you feel comfortable with older Microsoft technologies like WebForms and VB, .NET.

As our team is accountable for both runtime support and new development, an advantage is that you have:

  • Experience in application maintenance, support and development in international assignments
  • Experience in working in Agile projects (Scrumban, Scrum, Kanban, TFS, Jira as tools)
