About us
The Electric Drive Software department at Volvo Cars is proud of being one of the most successful players within SW development for Electric Vehicles. You will belong the Safety teams who has the responsibility for the development of the Safety Function for inverter and Electric Machines. Our vision is to deliver a robust and smart solution for the Safety functions needed. The agile team consist of dedicated and senior experienced people with a high focus on collaboration and communication within the group and it is good cohesion between the group members.

About you
You should be passionate about development of complex mechatronic systems within vehicle electrification, electronics, and embedded systems. You are devoted to driving engineering challenges all the way from business case and concept stage to mass production. You have senior background within SW functionality and development for Electric Vehicles. You need to be a natural initiator that commits to deliver the Team´s deliverables with high precision on quality. You are a team player that contributes and bring out the best from your fellow team members and work actively to increase your work network.

What you will do
You will work with model-based development using Simulink but also debug and make low level programming with C++. Together with your team members, you are responsible for developing and testing Safety Software Components. You will be of part SFMEA in cross-functional evaluation teams. You will work according to best practices of SW development.
You will be part of the System Safety team as a Safety Function Developer. The System Safety team´s responsibilities are:
* Be part of whole V-process to secure that Safety functions on Inverter component level are robust and don´t violent legal requirements.
* To have a holistic view over the Electric drive lines Safety functions
* Perform function and calibration activities in various environments
* Support with technical discussions external and internal.

You and your skills
* Master of Science or Bachelor of Science within Electrical, Electronics, Controls Theory, Signals & Systems or Mechatronics
* Minimum of 6 years of relevant job experience from Embedded SW C++, integration of micro controllers and model bases SW development and solid experience in MATLAB, Simulink and MIL/ SIL
* Function Safety development and documentation from automotive project with ASIL D integrity.
* Debugging/testing embedded software systems and automation
* SCRUM/agile development
* Advanced level in the English language and be comfortable and skilled in explaining or understanding complexed solutions.
* Driver´s license
