Help us shape the future of air-traffic management systems, and offer efficient delivery of integrated software systems to airport control towers around the world.

Our team is part of the air-traffic management tower systems (ATM TS) business unit and are for civil aviation. Our team is creative, international and have multilingual environment.

We work with a highly complex software systems: specification, design, development, integration, testing and delivery to customer.

Just now we are undergoing organizational change, and moving from extremely Waterfall processes to a more agile approach with automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.

The IATS DevOps team

Our aim is to apply software engineering principles, and modern methods found in the wider community, to the process of building, releasing, and deploying IATS software and configuration.

The team's responsibilities cover:

(1) designing, developing, and maintaining IATS development & build infrastructure (internal systems and tools);

(2) designing and implementing the IATS deployment subsystem (delivered as part of the product);

(3) helping to improve our delivery processes and tools (the bridge between 1 and 2)

What we work with

Software tools and services, mostly written in Python and Bash.

The IATS software itself, written in C++. This is ultimately the responsibility of component maintainers.

Software version control with Git, Subversion.

Build pipelines, currently implemented with Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory.

Software packaging (RPM, deb).

Virtualisation, virtual machine management, containers.

Improving automation and refactoring existing tools to give us continuous integration and continuous delivery. Doing it right.

IP network design, implementation, and debugging (incl. Ethernet, VLANs, IPv4, IPv6, multicast, TCP, UDP).

Switch configuration (Cisco, Juniper).

Network services (incl. iSCSI, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS).

Information security (incl. OS hardening, file system permissions, TLS, public key certificates, digital signatures, cryptographic hashing).

DevOps Engineer responsibilities

Design, development, and testing of small-to-medium-scale software programs.

Linux systems administration, automation, integration (with a DevOps / SRE approach)

Some hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.

Monitoring (hardware, network, software) and analysis.

Your profile

MSc in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent experience.

Ability to communicate clearly and proficiently in English, both written and spoken.

Ability to fulfil the responsibilities described above.

An interest in civil aviation is a plus, but we can help you with that!

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
