The Cloud team is a part of the Technology organization at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. We design the solutions of the future including teleoperation, connectivity and cloud services for autonomous traffic, fleet and productivity management. ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are eager to get to know you; creative software developers with experience of fullstack, back end and/or front end development. Depending on what your profile and preference is you might either work with our cloud microservice framework designing and optimizing scalable software functionality or you might join our front end developers building the coolest user friendly applications on the market. You and your team will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art features for our autonomous and teleoperated trucks and machines, in collaboration with other agile teams in our organization as well as partner companies and startups and with excellent guidance and support from our cloud architects and product owner.
If you are a fullstack or back end developer you are proficient in Java and have used Spring Boot to create microservices. You are experienced in using Kafka and maybe you have worked with the Docker engine and Kubernetes – that would be super cool. We would be happy to welcome someone with insight in cloud computing; perhaps you are even an AWS certified developer or have experience working with Azure. If you are a wizard in the area of data-structuring and optimization and know how to develop good data storage functionality do let us know!
It might be so that your profile pivots more towards the CI/CD, tools and toolchain setup (including e.g. test framework) areas, and you could be really into automating development work and process, addressing the questions related to deployment into a cloud environment, setting up microservice logging, or data management. Perhaps you even have an AWS or Azure devops background.
If you are perhaps instead into pure front end development we would also very much like to meet you! In that case you will be responsible for bridging the gap between our technical functionality and the product design. You are proficient in JavaScript and you might also have experience in React or Vue. You can’t wait to see your code come alive in the hands of our awesome UX designers.
