Junior Back End Developer

The role

In a few years, vehicles will be autonomous – and you will become an important contribution to this journey. You will work with development and maintenance of the global connectivity platform and develop advanced technologies with the end user in mind, but also refine existing code together in DevOps-teams. Here you will have a unique possibility to grow and develop your Java knowledge by using the latest technologies.

You will:

• Develop new software applications according to Volvo development standards
• Deploy, operate, and maintain Volvo applications incl. driving continuous improvement for better quality, functionality, cost effectiveness, etc.
• Actively contribute to the solution design of new services

And finally, but not the least, continuously reflect upon how things are done and what can be improved.

Your profile

To be successful in this role, a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree within computer science, software development or similar is a requirement. Furthermore, you have:

• Experience in JAVA development (we also recognize experience through own successful hobby projects)
• Fluent knowledge in English - written and spoken
• A valid work-permit for Sweden, if not EU-citizen

Knowledge and experience of working in AWS/Cloud environment, asynchronous programming, JMS, Active MQ, micro service architecture, cloud services, test automation frameworks and React is a plus.

As a person, you are a genuinely passionate about backend Java development. You are eager about solving complex problems, which means that you have excellent analytical skills. You enjoy cooperating with other people and working in a team, which reflects your great communication skills and pedagogic approach. You are actionable, proactive, and always thrive to be at the forefront.
