This will be us - your new colleagues within Digital Delivery
Digital Delivery is a new function within Group Digital & IT. It has the ambition to identify and execute on new digital initiatives in tight collaboration with Trucks Divisions /Business Areas and Group Functions (TD/BA & GF) as well as modernize and transform our existing solutions into products and to secure agile ways of working across the whole Digital Delivery function.
Together with our digital talents, we will work on solution design and deliveries in order to improve business performance and create value at scale for Volvo Group. Included in our mission is to drive an efficient Group Digital & IT interface and Portfolio Management for the TD/BAs and Group Functions.

We are now looking for a Solution Engineer to drive Domain Management practices and support in Software Quality Control.
This is how you could make an impact
As our ‘solution engineer’, you will drive the establishment of Domain Management practices, implement, and bring clear guidance and instructions on processes and way of working. You will also support in Software Quality control, where the team is receiving externally developed software from our suppliers.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to be a skilled senior solution engineer, with a broad technical background. Your main focus will be on Domain Management, where we appreciate applicants with good understanding of both the technical and business aspects of Domain Management.
There are approximately 2300 domains within Volvo Group today. Your role will be to give clear guidance and instructions on the process and way of working. Provide documentation and training. Clean up of dead sites and active once. Also provide high level description on how we work in the domain area. Define high level needs on what we have and what we need.
For the Software Quality Control part we look for broad competence (development, architecture, some infrastructure understanding and at least basic understanding of the test area) from several development environments as the responsibility will be to secure and sign-off on quality. Prioritized development environments are Java and .net, but other environments are also appreciated.
In your daily work, you will team up with senior business representatives, solution architects, business analysts, solution- / delivery leads and many more within the Volvo organization.
Who are you?
We believe that our new colleague has a university degree in computer science or another related field. We think you have a substantial experience and understanding of the areas above.
Required skills:
- You do understand Domain Management to such an extent that you can explain how the domain name system works, like why certain records exists and how they relate
- You are aware of the connection between a domain names and SEO
- You have experience in process definition, documentation, and implementation
- You have a strong analytical mind and you have no issues with presenting your findings based on the audience in front of you
- Experience in project management and working in agile projects (Scrumban, Scrum, Kanban, TFS, Jira as tools)
- Experience in several development environments
- Experience in application maintenance, support and development in international assignments
