With Battlelog, we power the players of Battlefield with detailed statistics, social functionality and game-to-companion features. Battlelog runs on desktop web, mobile, tablet, and in-game on console and PC, running 24/7 as a service. The Challenge Ahead

Our journey started with online services and is now taking us to brand new places. On our continued journey, we need a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. Creating experiences for players of Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront and other EA titles, our projects have grown both in number of users and developers over the last couple of years. We will need to expand and strengthen our operations team, to cover more games with an even higher availability. That's why we're looking for talented engineers to join us in creating world-class game services supporting AAA games created by DICE and EA.

What a Site Reliability Engineer at Uprise does

Ensure the services we create and operate to stay available and problem-free for our players
Work on large live services supporting millions of players
Develop tools and procedures for deploying and shipping our software in a continuous fashion
Ensure metrics can be collected and monitored, and alarms set up
Collaborate on and coordinate deployments with other EA teams
Be on-call with SREs and other engineers on a rolling schedule
Troubleshoot issues on live production systems

A big part of your work is to find ways of unblocking developers and other SREs, including yourself, in the daily work. We think good automation and tooling are absolutely crucial to operate high-quality services. Together with our sister studio, DICE Operations, we operate game services in two datacenters. For many services dedicated hardware is used. But moving forward, all our new services are being deployed on AWS using Apache Mesos together with Aurora. For monitoring and alerting, we currently use Datadog and PagerDuty.

Required
- Excellent skills in Linux administration
- Experience with operating large databases
- Excellent TCP/IP skills
- A mindset of building and operating reliable services
- Strong communication skills - excellent spoken and written English

Desired
- Previous experience with any of the following tech:
- Amazon Web Services
- Apache Mesos / Aurora
- JVM
- Service discovery (ZooKeeper)
- Container (appc)
- Active player on Battlelog and of DICE games
- Tech oriented university degree
- Good command of Swedish
