This is a Master thesis Project: Evaluation of Palletizing- and Conveyor systems by using Discrete Event Simulation

Project Description

Our customer has efficiency issues regarding their palletizing systems and is now planning to upgrade the system and needs therefor help with evaluating the capacity of the connected conveyor system and future palletizing solution.

The aim of the assignment is to test how the conveyor system will behave with the new palletizing system by building a Discrete Event Simulation Model.

Kravspecifikation

 Prerequisites

The project requires prior knowledge as stated below:

• Knowledge and interest in programming, preferably in VBA and/or C, C++ or C#.
• Basic simulation knowledge, preferably Plant Simulation or AutoMod simulation.
• Preferably interest and knowledge of design and HMI.

Personal skills

This project includes interviews with a number of different AFRY colleagues and customer stakeholders to create a requirement specification for the user interface. Thus you must be able to easily collaborate and communicate with other people. As the project outcome is a structured way of working for AFRY employees it is important to document continuously and implement a structured project method. The project will be supervised by consultants at AFRY but initiatives to move the project forward should come from you. Therefore, you should be ambitious and welcome new challenges. You need to have the capability to analyze and solve problems.
