Senior UI Artist

As a Senior UI Artist at Mojang Studios, your role is to help millions of players find the fun faster with improved usability in Minecraft’s UI. You’ll be working closely with others in a cross-functional team consisting of developers, a UX Designer, and a producer.

We — of course — love playing games, and we're looking for someone with a playful and open mindset.

What you will be doing

• Create UI for one of the world's most popular games
• Work on a wide array of platforms, e.g. Mac/Windows, iPhone, Android, and Xbox including a range of input methods like touch, controller, mouse, etc.
• Together with directors set and implement strategies and pipelines for UI art.
• Coach and mentor others to maintain artistic direction across teams and studios in synchronization with AD and stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have some of the following:

• Highly experienced UI artist.
• Experience from developing games for multiple platforms.
• Able to visualize ideas, as well as delivering them from concept to final product.
• Comfortable in creating sketches and concepts.
• A great collaborator and communicator with an ability to adapt to any context - be it interpersonal or in a team or studio context
• Being fast paced, organized, and with the ability to work with several teams on and off-site.
• Able to successfully create, document and enable processes for long term sustainability.
• You are someone that cares about people and can help us build an inclusive, open and friendly work environment.
• Communicating effectively in written and spoken English.
• A portfolio that demonstrates versatility and high artistic skills in areas like UI, pixel art and animation.
• Having experience with Photoshop and an understanding of Figma, Sketch, or similar design tool.
