At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are currently looking for BMS Software Control Product Owner to join the Energy Storage System (ESS) functions and BMS group

The ESS functions and BMS group is responsible for development of battery management system and system design of ESS functions used in all Volvos’ electric products, such as, busses, trucks, construction equipment, and marine applications. Organizationally we belong to Electromobility, which was formed to be in the forefront of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Each team plan their work and deliver solutions together according to agile methods. The responsibility covers the full product life-cycle, from design, software implementation and calibration to verification and maintenance in customer end products.

Who are you?

You will be a member of Agile team and have the responsibility for defining, populating, and executing teams’ backlog with input from System Architect/Engineers and other stakeholders. Leading the necessary activities to safeguard both features and quality. These activities include prioritization of software implementation, being part of defining technical roadmaps including both functional and non-functional requirements and governance of product branch plans.

To be successful in this position you need to be a technical leader of the team with strong collaboration/networking skills and have an analytic mindset of a true problem solver. You have a long experience from the automotive industry, system development and software development.

In addition, we believe you have the following:

• Master of Science in control systems, mechatronics, electrical engineering, signal processing, or engineering physics.
• 6-10 years of experience from Embedded software development design & development
• Have experience of technical leader or an Agile product owner role.
• High proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink based modelling/analysis.
• Experience from embedded software development for control applications.
• Experience from Battery Management System software developement
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Any experience with electro-thermal and ageing dynamics of Lithium-ion batteries along with battery state estimation and control algorithms will be meritorious.

Merit

Automotive experience, TargetLink, C/C++, Embedded SW/HW, Control Theory, HIL, CAN, LIN, ISO 26262, J1939, Autosar, Systems Engineering.
