At the department Battery & Charging Controls, we make the heart of the electric vehicle beat. We are responsible for the development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. Are you experienced in the integration and configuration of AUTOSAR modules and looking for a role where you can grow? Then you should join our group Charging Software! We are responsible for delivering software functionality regarding actual software deliveries, but also diagnostics functionality, for the onboard charger (OBC) and the DCDC converters in our electrified vehicles.

Here you will get the chance to work on an essential part for the future of electric mobility - the onboard charger (OBC). It holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of the highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. You will contribute to the fulfillment of our vision to deliver the best functionality in the market for Charging Software functionality in-house and continuously evolve our way of working. We strive for a more modular platform that is suitable for our vision of continuous integration/deployment and a higher focus on the product.

What You’ll Do 
You will be responsible for the AUTOSAR Complex Device Driver (CDD) that is used for the communication between the vehicle and the charging station that follows the CCS standards. The main responsibility is the configuration, the integration with regards to defining data ports and needed software components and being the technical point of contact with the vendor. When the vendor issues a new version of the CDD, your task is to ensure that it works the same or better than the old ones by integrating them into the build system and to flash it to the ECU and performing necessary tests before releasing it to the project.

You will be a part of an Agile team, but this will be your specialty. The role will grow over time and more responsibility will be added along the way.

You and Your Skills
We believe that you have at least a B.Sc. degree within engineering, preferably electronics, software engineering or equivalent competence. On top of this, you need a couple of years of experience within the automotive industry, especially from the integration and configuration of AUTOSAR modules. You are a proficient user of Simulink and have programming skills in C/C++, preferably gained from developing CDD and Software Components. You are also familiar with ISO 15118-2 / ISO15118-20 / DIN.

Broader experience using AUTOSAR, for system or architecture development and especially the use of BSW modules and configuration tools would be beneficial so would also knowledge about the configuration of AUTOSAR CAN-layers, including J1939-protocol be. Knowledge of microcontrollers/processors, HSM or cyber security is also considered beneficial.

You have a business-oriented mindset, are driven and full of positive energy. You are structured, but still flexible in your approach. You possess good documentation skills. Further, you enjoy cooperating and communicating with different people in different roles. You have the integrity and courage to make a true difference.

We are a global company so a must for us is that you are fluent in English. You should have a driving license (B), preferably you love cars as much as we do!
