The person we are looking for
Work on a highly intelligent, lightweight and motivated team to achieve our goal of revolutionizing the combustion engine with Freevalve technology. As a Software Developer in the Control Systems team, you will work with embedded software and be responsible for developing system functionality to fully utilize the capabilities of the Freevalve system. This will challenge your abilities and imagination, solving complicated and time-critical problems.
Responsibilities:
- Programming real-time embedded systems in C/C++ and testing the code in the lab and in real engines
- Assist in setting up engines in test cells/vehicles and troubleshooting the system
- Utilize ATI Vision software interfaces to control system inputs and outputs
- Create and maintain structured data acquisition methods
- Create documentation around test setup, procedure and test results with conclusions based off expected behavior and any deviations
- Communicate directly with third parties to deliver test data for development support
- Assist in customer delivery programs and occasional on-site support
- Plan, construct, test and evaluate embedded electronic circuits and systems
Skills & Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Electronics, software, computer, etc.)
- 3-5 years of experience in real-time embedded software development
- Experience in C/C++
- Hands-on experience with electronics
- Experience with Vision or similar
- Thrive with large degrees of freedom, responsibility, and accountability
- A strong initiative towards structure and documentation
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Mechatronics experience
- Experience with XCP/CCP, CAN, OBD-II and other automotive standards
- Experience with NXP (Freescale) PPC based automotive MCU’s
- Additional knowledge in ARM, PIC and other MCU families
- Additional programming skills in Assembler and Python
- Experience in automotive applications
- Some experience with vehicle software and hardware implementation
- Comfortable reading, understanding and troubleshooting functions in C, C++ or similar
- Advanced knowledge of combustion engines and current technology
