We are a diverse and dedicated team consisting of embedded software application and function developers. Within the section we develop Battery and Electrification Management Systems for Scania and other Traton brand trucks, busses and power solutions, organised in several teams with different competences and areas of responsibility.

We now have an opening for an experienced Software and Function Developer with expert knowledge within controls design.

Required competences

• Basic understanding of feedback control loops (PID controllers)
• Analysis of complex systems
• Basic understanding of thermodynamic systems and heat transfer
• Basic knowledge for model calibration
• Knowledge of Matlab & Simulink for programming and simulation
• Basic knowledge of C (or similar programming language)

Desired competences

Advanced PID controller design:

• Gain-scheduling
• Controller tunning and stability analysis (antiwindup, bumpless transfer, etc.)

Knowledge on controller implementation:

• System discretization
• Instability analysis (algebraic-loops, oscillations, etc.)
• Design of execution time, etc.

Knowledge on estimation methods:

• State observers (Kalman filter)
• System adaptation
• Sensor fusion techniques

Knowledge on heat transfer and thermodynamics:

• Familiar with concepts such as COP, NTU method and modelling of heaters, radiators, fans, etc.
• Familiar with basic thermodynamic concepts such as enthalpy, Carnot efficiency, etc.

Familiar with code generation in Matlab & Simulink:

• C-code generation, functional testing, C-unit testing

Experience with agile and scrum software development:

• Jira
• Perforce, Git

C-driving license

Valued competences

Familiar with other control concepts:

• State-feedback (L, LQG)
• Model-based controller design (MPC)
• Non-linear controllers (Lyapunov methods)
• Knowledge on system optimization: linear programming, dynamic programming, etc.
