Site Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer with an enthusiastic mindset to join our Infrastructure and Security team. This team is the heart of Kivra and is building and supporting a large, scalable platform for all our services. The platform provides distributed systems that handle all our data with great reliability and security.

What you'll do
You'll play a key role in Kivras Infrastructure and Security team, where you will work alongside great colleagues with automation of deployment pipelines, monitoring and alerting and regular system and network management among other things. You will develop and drive implementation of new tools in order to make our infrastructure more efficient as well as maintain and improve our current infrastructure. And always with a focus on the security and stability of our services!

Our infrastructure is based on

- Distributed systems, micro service architecture (Docker and Kubernetes)

- Automation and provisioning with Ansible and Terraform

- Colocation and Google Cloud Platform using Ubuntu/CentOS

- Web stack: Nginx, HAProxy, Google LB, Istio

- Monitoring and logging: Zabbix, Sentry, Pagerduty, Splunk

- Zookeeper, Kafka, Python, Erlang and some Java backend applications

- Self hosted hardware: HP, MikroTik, Supermicro, Cisco

- Database environment: Riak, PostgreSQL

- IAM: Google & MS AD

Required skills
Who you are and how you fit the team is super important. We thrive on being nice and helpful to each other and to the rest of the company!

But to have fun at Kivra you also need to have strong skills in Linux, Enterprise level IT system management and automation (e.g. Ansible/Terraform) paired with an equally strong sense of service. You have worked with devops and SRE for some years now and are therefore well versed in working in hybrid environments spanning from on prem to the cloud. And, to quote ourselves, “always with a focus on the security and stability of our services''

Desired skills
If you know network and firewall management that is really great. Database management is a huge plus as well as knowledge of web application management. And last but not least, a solid understanding of containers and container orchestration would make you an even stronger candidate.

The role also gives you the opportunity to specialize within one or several fields. We are looking for someone with a strong skill set and past experience within our tech stack. We have a very warm and friendly culture and we expect you to take part in that naturally. We thrive on collaboration and teamwork, we expect personal initiatives and love strong opinions based on facts.

We offer

Kivra offers a place in a committed team with the opportunity for a high degree of innovation. You will be involved in influencing Kivra's exciting business and product development of a service that is currently used by more than half of Sweden's population. One of Kivra's values is happy-happy, which is also reflected in the concern for Kivra's staff. In addition to collective agreements and wellness, we offer a number of other great benefits.

How to apply

Easy peasy, just send in your CV and cover letter as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the role or the recruitment process don’t hesitate to contact Sarah Ohlsson, Talent Acquisition Specialist at [email protected].
