We are looking for a IT System Administrator with an interest in Linux / Open Source and the automotive industry.
You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving our internal IT infrastructure, as well as serving the IT infrastructure needs of our current and future projects. You may also be tasked to assist or lead deployment of IT infrastructure at customer sites.
As IT System Administrator at Pelagicore, you will be responsible for installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of IT hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will work on improving the stability and performance of our IT systems, maintaining and improving security and troubleshooting issues that arise.
Some of your tasks will include:
Deploy and administer servers, laptops, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software, security updates and patches
Evaluate and modify our IT systems to maximise productivity and security
Be responsible for maintaining our continuous integration setup
Troubleshoot problems reported by users
Suggest improvements and future upgrades
Maintain and enhance network and system security
About you You are a driven and dedicated individual who collaborates well and has good communication skills. You are able to multi-task and work independently on solving technical issues and improving our IT infrastructure. You are also able to effectively communicate in a professional and courteous manner with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Skills & Experience We believe you have the following skills and experience:
Experience building/configuring Linux servers
Familiar with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl or similar
Familiarity with Windows and OS X operating systems, including setup of typical office software and general troubleshooting knowledge
Familiarity with continuous integration best practices and test automation
Experience setting up typical office peripherals such as printers, conference phones, A/V systems
Good communication skills, including fluent in English
2 years of higher education in Network and System Administration or equivalent area
Formal education may be substituted by relevant experience
Additionally, we consider it a plus if you have:
Familiarity with Atlassian Confluence/JIRA, Yocto, Jenkins, Doxygen
Experience using Git and related tools
Experience with Linux-based Continuous Integration systems
Experience configuring and maintaining virtual machines
