Back-End Developer

Video is eating the world. From entertainment to industry, video is found everywhere, and more people than ever create video content. The amount of video created every day put a heavy demand on the underlying platforms, while the need to quickly turn your raw content into compelling stories is greater than ever.

THE POSITION
As a back-end developer, you will be part of a team that develops media asset management (MAM) software and services for all our customers. Our MAM software manages millions of our customers most precious content: programs, news, advertisements, movies, and so on. The MAM software manages the metadata, access rights, and the essence of all this material. It also makes everything searchable, so that users can find the right content immediately. Reliability is a must, so developing robust code and test cases are natural ingredients.

Your tasks include:
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Building tests: unit, integration, performance, smoke, all kinds of tests.
• Building deployment packages: Linux packages (deb/rpm), Docker images, Kubernetes
• Assist with customer support

Technologies used, and to which you should have knowledge in:
• Java EE
• CI/CD pipelines
• Testing frameworks (e.g. JMeter)
• SQL/ORM
• Dropwizard/Jersey/REST
• Docker/Kubernetes

WHO YOU ARE
You have a degree in Computer Science, or you just love everything about IT and are self-taught. You have a great interest in technical development and problem-solving. It is of merit if you have previous experience in front-end development, development within cloud systems, or handling of video and image formats.

VidiCore software is running both on-premise at their customers facilities and in the cloud. Hence the VidiCore product must be both easy to use and maintain and developed so that it is working in all environments. It is difficult and relevant!

Being a team player, you will be an important part of the VidiCore team at Vidispine. Furthermore, you thrive in a role where you are expected to pick up new technology quickly, which is also something that attracts you. You are fluent in English, both written and verbal communication.
