Founded in 2012 as an Oulu University spin-off, we have been recognized as the industry forerunner, and the game-changer. Whilst rest of the industry is still taking off, we are well on our way to global success. We are dedicated to serving app developers from all around the world by helping them to build amazing location-based apps and giving them the freedom and scale they deserve. Their story is our story. It can now be yours too.

Our research teams in Oulu and Helsinki need more manpower, and we are now hiring Researchers and Software Engineers to join us to develop cutting edge navigation and positioning technology.

About the role
Working in our team offers you an excellent opportunity to learn many aspects from algorithm and system design to final product testing. You will be developing new algorithms and solutions or designing and implementing solutions and systems to one or more of the following areas according to your experience and interest:
- Smartphone sensor signal processing and sensor fusion
- Pedestrian dead reckoning and tracking
- Indoor mapping, map formation and management
- Data management in global scale, analysis and visualization
- Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM)
- Map matching algorithms for indoor positioning

Our team consists of 10+ research-oriented professionals, many of whom have strong academic research background. We work in small teams developing algorithms, components and systems for our products. Working for us, you get the opportunity to have top-notch scientists to coach you in developing your skills. In this role, you may have either research focus or software engineering focus. In the researcher role, you will be developing and designing new algorithms and methodology for solving challenging problems related to indoor positioning. In the software engineering role, you will participate in algorithm design and develop proof-of-concept solutions to working products.

Expectations for this position:
1) After the first 6 months:
- You've learnt how our solution functions and what it is based on
- You've have contributed to algorithms behind our positioning solution
- You've been able to form a vision of the future system improvements in your focus area
2) After your first year:
- You've been able to make significant and measurable improvements in some part of our positioning solution
- You've gained a deeper understanding of your focus area and the system as a whole
- You are able to work independently and take more responsibility of the system components
