Senior Software Developer with interest in Big Data and Data Science

Utilifeed is a rapidly expanding startup with a mission to transform the energy industry by making it more data driven across the whole value chain. We provide an advanced analytics services using a SaaS platform that is used by a group of progressive district heating companies. There are many interesting avenues for improving efficiencies while making the industry greener.

We are now looking to expand our Data Science team with an experienced Software Developer interested in Big Data and Data Science. You should enjoy working with complex problems as well as knowing the processes needed throughout the entire software development cycle.

Who we believe you are

You have worked with software development for some years now and are very familiar with what it takes to design and write testable, maintainable code and how to make best use of CI/CD environments.

You enjoy working with others and mentoring less experienced team members is something that makes you grow. Previous experience in AWS or other cloud services is a plus.

Responsibilities

Utilifeed requires a data scientist or software developer who will be:

- Performing R&D tasks to develop the algorithms required to produce new insights for our clients that will lead to new features.
- Improving our data ingestion pipeline, we anticipate the need to improve the methods used and add additional layers of automation.
- Striving to make sure that we as a team use best practices in software development.
- Coaching junior team members and on-boarding new team members as we grow.

Technical skills

At least 3+ years of experience in software development is a requirement. A strong theoretical background with a master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics, or similar is desired. We would also like you to be knowledgeable in:

- Python including object oriented programming and regression testing frameworks.
- CI/CD pipelines and version control (preferably Jenkins and Git)
- SQL/Postgres

- AWS or other cloud services platform
- Linux

It is meritorious if you have experience in any of the following areas:

- Docker
- Machine learning
- Data cleaning

Additional skills:

- Good English skills (the language of communication for the tech team).
- Swedish is desired but not essential.
