Defold is one of King´s own game engines. The Defold team is growing rapidly and therefore we are now looking for a Developer Advocate.

Your role within our Kingdom
As a Developer Advocate your focus will be on supporting 3rd party developers who are building games and businesses using our new technology. You are a passionate role model for both our vision and our technology as well as a vocal champion for developer interests within King. This is a position for engineers who love connecting with other developers and talking about cutting-edge technologies as part conference panels, user groups, on blogs and with the press in collaboration with our PR team. Your main focus will be to promote our Defold game engine as well as other King games, platforms or engines.

Input into shaping the strategy on how we engage developers with King, Defold and our other engines
Represent King and our technology by speaking at both internal and external conferences, industry events and other meetings
Promote our technology in lots of creative and innovative ways to reinforce our brand and our values in articles, blogging, social media etc
Plan, lead and facilitate user demonstrations, recorded demonstrations and creating sample projects at Game Jams
Work with external game developers in Europe and US to evangelize our Defold game engine and drive significant business and user value
Spread the work about our technology internally across King
Take regular, engineering-focused meetings with partners to help them complete the integration
Together with our Community Manager collect and bring user feedback to product, marketing, business development, at King
Provide regular progress reports and updates to key stakeholders on progress, achievements and opportunities
Connect with future potential business partners, helping to bring them on-board to work in with King

Skills to create thrills
Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a deep passion for technology, games and communication. You love to find solutions for our users´ challenges and are exceptional in empowering them to share idea and help each other.

BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
Considerable experience and success as a software developer, architect, technology evangelist, CTO, or consultant working with web or mobile technologies
Have led partner relations and networks in the gaming industry, either directly or indirectly
Excellent public speaking skills and charisma, comfortable with presenting to large technical audiences
Lots of programming experience in Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, .NET and JavaScript
Able to travel regularly, occasionally at short notice

Tasty bonus skills

Experience of blogging and writing technical articles with an existing follower base, as well as experience working directly with press and bloggers
Good knowledge of web application or mobile application development landscapes
Experience in dealing with the media as a spokesperson
Knowledge of indie development community
