SAP Technical Solution Architect

SAP Centre of Excellence is a function within Group IT, globally responsible for delivery and governance of all SAP based solutions within the organization. We are organized around two areas of delivery; support and maintenance of productive solutions, and new development implementation projects. Geographically our team is located in the Volvo Car Group's offices in Gothenburg and Shanghai. The delivery model is global with a balanced mix of on-site and off-shore staff for both maintenance and project deliveries. The demand for SAP based solutions is growing for all processes within the company and our role of governance is growing more important. We are present during the entire solution life cycle, and in the initial phase of projects, solution and technical architecture and business fit is secured as well as project standards and quality compliance. In maintenance the continuous change and improvement process and landscape lifecycle are the main governing tasks. The organization as well as our team is in an expansive period and we are looking for you that can contribute and be a part of our SAP team.
As a SAP Technical Solution Architect you will be a part of the CoE team with a responsibility to provide support and governance for architecture and the technical solution design to both business and IT project teams. Your goal is to influence the use of SAP within your area in a way that will give the best total benefit to the Volvo Cars business. A daily task is to participate in the work to find the right balance between the overall advantage of an enterprise wide integrated standard process, and the uniqueness of business that bring that extra edge. The work spans from technical and functional detailed matters to contribute with content in strategic work. You will work in close cooperation with several roles like the Application Manager for Basis and the SAP Domain Architect in the existing SAP landscape at Volvo Cars. The role is challenging with good development possibilities within the company.
Main responsibilities
* You will be responsible for handling and managing the demands from the projects and will secure that the technical architectural are met over time in the overall SAP architectural strategy
* Work with performance improvement and optimization of the existing solution
* You will contribute to the development of the SAP landscape. This includes to optimize SAP for further expansion within the Volvo Car group
* Work with SAP landscape design and sizing
* Work with the long term architecture
Required qualifications
* University degree in either Engineering, Business Administration or an IT related topic
* Extensive knowledge in the SAP Basis area, more than 5 years experience in SAP Basis
* Extensive SAP technical architecture knowledge, more than 5 years experience
* Deep knowledge of running SAP application operations and best practice technical SAP architecture is required
* Competence to understand and plan for long term capacity planning and how to optimize the different components within application operation area
* Good knowledge to describe and visualize the IT delivery in a global SAP enterprise implementation
* AIX and Linux knowledge is meritorious
Personal qualities
* Good interpersonal skills and a team player
* Good communicating skills, including a high level in spoken and written English
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment with IT-tools/Systems development
* Strong business orientation and business acumen
* A strategic mindset on how SAP should, or should not be used in large organizations
* Able to travel on occasion
