The Electric Drive Software department at Volvo Cars is proud being one of the most successful players within SW development for Electric Vehicles. We deliver system solutions and SW functionality for the Inverters in our electrified vehicles. Our vision is to deliver the best and most innovated functions to the market and continuously evolve our Software platform.

ABOUT YOU
You have a passion for development of complex mechatronic systems within vehicle electrification, electronics, and embedded systems. You enjoy driving engineering challenges all the way from business case and concept stage to mass production.
You have background within SW development, programming, electronics, and electric machines and is a natural initiator that commits to deliver the Team´s deliverables with precision and quality. You are a team player that contributes and bring out the best from your fellow team members and work actively to increase your network.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Motor Controls team is developing the in-house Electric Motor Control Application from the bottom up, where the core functionality of the SW is to realize the requested electric machine torque in the most optimal way given the current operating conditions.

The team uses Simulink and code generation for application SW and direct C code for the lower-level code needed to the inverter drivers and communication.
As a CDD developer work includes implementation and testing of software components for sensors and actuators in an Inverter ECU with focus on control of an electrical machine. The ECU uses Classic Autosar and the software components will thus live in a Autosar context and the work will include configuration of a MCAL. A subset of the software components will be ASIL classified.

In this role as Developer, you will be a part of a fast-paced team that delivers state of the art machine control. You will utilize a variety of different SW tools during the development process as well as having responsibility of all phases of the development; from design and implementation to vehicle testing and fine-tuning.
