The UX Research team is seeking a Sr. IT Lab Technician who is technically savvy and knows their way around a research lab full of all the latest and greatest gaming hardware and networks. If you are that person, you will be working alongside our user researchers and operational support team who deliver game-changing user research data to all game teams across EA. You need to know your way around all of our supported gaming hardware, from Microsoft and Sony test kits to PC gaming rigs to mobile devices like iPhones and iPads. You need to be organized and driven as you will take ownership of our labs and ensure they are running like well-oiled machines.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the research and game teams to configure and organize lab space for playtest/research studies
- Ability to self-manage and take the initiative to be pro-active in the improvement and maintenance of our state of the art research facility
- Manage the installation of prototypes and game builds ensuring the smooth execution of research studies
- Suggest opportunities to improve lab infrastructure and increase infrastructure reliability by identifying and executing optimization opportunities
- Administer the configuration and resource tracking of all testing hardware such as Microsoft?s Xbox and Sony?s PlayStation test kits
- Possess basic System, Storage and Network Administration skills
- Adhere to guidelines to ensure build and prototype security
- On-call support as required to complete projects and solve problems on a timely basis
- Provide problem resolution, configuration, and installation of PC hardware and peripherals, to include, but not limited to desktop PCs, laptops, and servers
- Evaluate and recommend PC hardware and software solutions
- Provide documentation as needed for software instructions and projects

Required
- 2-5 years previous experience in a Desktop support role
- Strong client OS background including Windows 7/8/10 and Mac OSX
- Understanding of basic network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, as well as network hardware
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work under strict time constraints.
- Great time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have strong customer service skills
- Ability to work with and support a diverse range of users with computer literacy skills ranging from novice to expert

Preferred
- Previous game industry experience and familiarity with EA?s build management tools
- Experience working directly with a software development team
- Familiar with best practices for quality assurance
