Backend Engineer with interest in Blockchain!

Our customer describes themselves as a bit nerdy - they like corporate law, business, and like technology - which is why they are working on legal tech for businesses and entrepreneurs. Their mission is to help business owners to grow and protect their companies. They do this by building the next generation of distributed share ledger software, the source of truth for ownership of companies - all based on the trust and security inherent in blockchain technology.

Our customers platform is now being further developed into the first version ready for commercial release. After this, the vision is big and global: As the source of truth for verified ownership of private companies, our customer will provide a core capability for entrepreneurs, investors, and public authorities alike.

The team consists of a small dedicated group of engineers and product specialists that is now scaling up in order to accelerate development of all the features needed to support businesses and entrepreneurs.

About you
As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building and expanding the backend services that power the core of the platform. You will be working on integration with data providers and implementing the RESTful APIs that serve as "oracles" for data in the decentralized frontend application and onboarding to the core blockchain.

This is an intermediate-level position where we expect you to have at least 3-4 years of experience building building backend services in either C#/.NET Core, Java/Kotlin Spring Boot, or both. An interest in regulatory and/or financial applications is a plus.

In addition to the traditional backend work, you will have the opportunity to expand your skill set and gain experience in working on the core distributed blockchain logic, which is implemented on our customers revolutionary relational blockchain platform.

The role is a full time engagement as an employee. Our customer has a flexible hybrid working environment where you can work both from home and from our office in the Central Station in Stockholm.

Responsibilities

- You play a vital role in a cross-functional team, working in an iterative process together with our product and engineering team to produce robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services that can be relied on by all parts of the stack.
- You are comfortable taking independent responsibility for technology and software design decisions in the backend part of the product stack, in collaboration with the engineering team as a whole.

About you

- At least 1 year of relevant education in software engineering, computer science, backend development, or similar.
- At least 3 years of experience in building and maintaining production applications in either C#/.NET Core or Java/Kotlin Spring Boot.
- A good understanding of modern, scalable, maintainable, and secure application design.
- Experience both implementing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- An open mind with interest in blockchain and distributed ledger technology.
- Structured and detailed oriented person.
- Highly proactive, balance speed and quality to meet product delivery timelines.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and professionally proficient in Swedish. The job will involve integration with official authority APIs that are only documented in Swedish.
- You are a person who likes to take your own initiatives.
- Able to work from our office in central Stockholm at least a few days per week - i.e. not fully remote.
