Cloud Operations Engineer

As a Cloud Operations Engineer at Freespee you will work in a small, high-end team devoted to our core platform. You will need to have in-depth understanding of Linux server administration, networking and key services running on both virtualized and non-virtualized platforms. As we are just in the process of moving from our own data centers into various cloud providers, we believe that you’ve undertaken the same transition before.

You love to monitor and tune servers and services and you do not leave loose ends hanging around. If needed, you will probably even debug Open Source software and contribute to their projects in order to resolve issues.

Part of your responsibilities will also be to aid our Development team, researching and proving server and platform solutions to help them get the best possible performance and high-availability out of our product.

Desired skills and experience

• Experience in a 24×7 high-availability production environment
• Linux system administration in a complex cloud and data center environment
• In-depth networking technology and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with MySQL HA setups
• Experience with real-time protocols such as SIP, Websockets or WebRTC
• Experience with server/application security
• Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon, Google or Microsoft
• Experience with various scripting / coding languages
• Previous experience or knowledge of Agile methodologies are appreciated
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
