L3 Tivoli Monitoring and Netcool Administrator

An IBM Certified Administrator - Tivoli Monitoring V6 experienced system administrator with extensive knowledge and experience of IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Netcool/Omnibus, Network Manager and Tivoli Common Reporting.

The individual shall be capable of performing the intermediate to advanced tasks related to daily management and operation, security, performance, installation and configuration of enhancements, customization and/or problem determination.

Key Result Areas:

ITM
Implement and maintain an IBM Tivoli Monitoring solution based on customer requirements/environment.
Install, upgrade, and configure IBM Tivoli Monitoring infrastructure components and integrated products IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus, TCR.
Perform performance tuning and problem determination for IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
Understand the needs of the customer to provide an ongoing solution to the IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment.
Customize the IBM Tivoli Monitoring environment including building of workspaces, situation, and queries to access data, workflow automation with policies, and construct links for easy portal navigation.
Maintain the historical data collection and reporting components, addressing capacity issues
Configure historical data collection, summarization and pruning
Netcool/Omnibus
Administer OMNIbus, Probes and Gateways and the Web GUI, Configure access in the TIP portal.
Configure Filters, Views, and Maps with the Web GUI.
High availability and database administration, Use both basic and advanced SQL.
Configure and run probe integrations, Implement advanced gateway integrations.
Tivoli Network Manager
Configure and run a network discovery, schedule automatic full discoveries.
Build and use discovery filters, troubleshoot discovery issues, Build network partition views.
Configure and customize Network Manager polling behavior.
Perform stitcher customizations to add custom data to a discovery.
Tivoli Common Reporting
? Describe how to obtain ready-to-use Cognos reports for use with Tivoli Common Reporting, Import Cognos report packages using Tivoli Common Reporting.
Create a data source to access Oracle databases
Configure LDAP for user authentication
Locate, submit, schedule, e-mail, and print reports.
Create a custom basic list and chart report
SCOM
Participate in project discussions towards migrating from Tivoli to Microsoft SCOM
Define the policy standards for SCOM monitoring

Working knowledge of Tivoli Integrated Portal Console
Working knowledge of OS, networking, and firewall concepts; Linux/UNIX administrative skills
Working knowledge of upgrading and migration paths available through IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2.3
Working knowledge of XML
Working knowledge of Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Agents (TEMA) and ITCAM
Working knowledge of Agent Builder
Working knowledge of IBM Integrated Services Management Library
Working knowledge of supported databases and ODBC/JDBC
Working knowledge of SQL skills
