Engineering Team Lead

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Do you want to work in a start-up within a scale-up?

With Wolt Market we’re looking to bring the same lovable Wolt experience of fast, friendly delivery, within minutes from restaurants to all products we need in our daily lives from groceries to work-from-home supplies. It’s a chance to help build an all-new blissful shopping experience, and to remake customers’ e-commerce experience through a rapidly growing dark store (or Wolt-wise, “blue store”) network.

We’re now looking for an Engineering Team Lead to lead the cross-functional talented team of engineers working on creating from scratch tools and systems to grow one of the most exciting new business areas at Wolt. The scope will involve one of the following domains: Vendor Management, Product Information Management or Integrations.

As a Team Lead, you’ll ensure we do the right things in the right way, acting as a facilitator and striving to make the complex things simple. You’ll see it as your biggest mission to cultivate personal growth of your team members and serve as a supportive leader by: truly getting to know each team member, having regular 1on1s with feedback, facilitating goal-setting. You’ll also act as an enabler for the daily and weekly practices and do whatever is needed to help the team succeed. As we work in a highly ownership-driven environment, it will often mean taking a step back and giving autonomy to the team; on other occasions you’ll need to be more hands-on and give your guidance. We’d expect you to know well when to apply which approach.

• You come from a software engineering background and have strong experience leading engineering teams.
• You're not afraid to step into action when needed, and most of the time, you are also ready to step back and let the team do its magic.
• We expect you to be a good communicator, willing to serve people outside of your team, and a product-oriented and proactive problem solver willing to bring up issues in a constructive manner to the team and the whole Wolt Product team.

If you are one of those unicorns with leadership abilities & development skills, there is room in this position for hands-on contribution as well! We are thrilled if you have technical expertise in fields such as backend engineering with Kotlin or frontend development with React + Typescript.

It may sound like we are looking for a unicorn (which we probably are), but we believe in unicorns - we are looking for the perfect fit to make a big impact in molding the future of Wolt with building cool and ambitious stuff that few believe can be done.
