As a Software Engineer at Emerson you will be part of a team that develop software for our products in a Scrum way of working. We work in self-organizing teams, which gives us a lot of autonomy in our daily work. To further strengthen our organization, we are looking for a curious person with a genuine interest in software development that can work both in teams and independently.

Responsibilities

Your responsibility as a Software Engineer in product development is to analyze customer and product requirements/features, create software architecture and design, implement software and develop corresponding test automation, that will constitute a product software release.

Further also to support technical risk analysis (safety as well as cyber security) and root cause analysis of defects in the product.

Our product roadmaps are divided in software releases typically 1-2 times a year where the features to be part of a release are planned in a Product Backlog, managed and prioritized by the Scrum Product Owner. Management, planning and typical events/meetings are following the Scrum way of working where the Software Engineer is part of the Development Team.

We are working in a development and test environment supporting CI/CD where the Development Team is responsible for the verification in the development stage and the system level verification stage is performed by our Test Team.

Requirements

For this position, we see that you have:

• At least a Bachelor university degree from IT, Computer science, Electrical engineering or equivalent with a software engineering focus
• Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken, as our business environment is highly international and multi-cultural
• At least 5 years of experience in software development using C++ or C#, Microsoft Windows platforms and components, SQL databases aiming for software running on a Microsoft Windows, e.g. Windows 10 and Windows Server
• At least 5 years of experience using Scrum (or similar derivates e.g. SAFe) in software development
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach
• Strong in collaboration, and the ability to communicate technical solutions in a clear and consistent way

Furthermore, it’s a merit having:

• A Scrum Master certificate
• Experience in human centered design/UX
• Experience using Azure DevOps and a Gherkin/Selenium/C# test framework
• Worked with distributed development and test teams
• Experience in Cyber security management
