Join our creative and international environment to help us shape the future of air-traffic management systems, and offer efficient delivery of integrated software systems to airport control towers around the world

Your role

You will be part of the ATM Tower Systems Development department, which designs and develops complex, customised software for civil aviation. We are currently undergoing organisational change, and moving from Waterfall processes to a more agile approach with automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.

The I‑ATS DevOps team

Our aim is to apply software engineering principles, and modern methods found in the wider community, to the process of building, releasing, and deploying I‑ATS (integrated air-traffic control suite) software and configuration.

The team's responsibilities cover:

*

1. Designing, developing, and maintaining I‑ATS development & build infrastructure (internal systems and tools)
*

2. Designing and implementing the I‑ATS deployment subsystem (delivered as part of the product)
*

3. Helping to improve our delivery processes and tools (the bridge between 1 and 2)

Tasks within our team:

*

Software packaging (RPM, deb)
*

Switch configuration (Cisco, Juniper)
*

The I‑ATS software itself, written in C++
*

Software version control with Git, Subversion
*

Virtualisation, virtual machine management, containers
*

Software tools and services, mostly written in Python and Bash
*

Build pipelines, currently implemented with Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory
*

Network services (incl. iSCSI, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS).
*

Linux systems administration, automation, integration (Debian and Red Hat derivatives)
*

Improving automation and refactoring existing tools to give us continuous integration and delivery
*

IP network design, implementation, and debugging (incl. Ethernet, VLANs, IPv4, IPv6, multicast, TCP, UDP)
*

Information security (incl. OS hardening, file system permissions, TLS, public key certificates, digital signatures, cryptographic hashing)

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Your profile

In this role you need to have a MSc in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent experience, along with appropriate expertise in Linux systems. The ability to communicate clearly and proficiently in English, both written and spoken are necessary. An interest in civil aviation is a plus, but we can help you with that!
