What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures safety critical systems and equipment for demanding applications in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Avionics Systems portfolio includes the new generation Head-Up Display System, Mission Computers, Control and Actuation Systems and Communication Management System, among others. We deliver for example hardware and software for JAS 39 Gripen systems. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Avionics Systems have more than 300 employees around the world and most of our projects are carried out in an international environment.Product Areas Control & Actuation, Integrated Avionics Solutions, Gripen and Mission Avionics as well as Common Engineering are all part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have its operation in Jönköping and Järfälla. 
The section Video and Graphics Software within the Common Engieering Department is looking for an SW Developer for Video & Graphics (embeded systems) with placement in Järfälla.

Your role
Your workplace:
Avionics Systems develops embedded software and electronics for safety-critical real-time systems for the aircraft industry. Our software development focuses on requirements-based software development (requirements engineering, design, coding, verification and documentation of software), that we believe you have earlier experience in.
 The work package could vary from limited drivers to advanced application SW developed up to level A products according to RTCA/DO-178C which is the software consideration in Airborne System. Typically, the SW is coded in C or C++ and developed for Power PC processors. A number of support tools are used within the area requirement engineering, configuration management and model based design. Our section is working with specification, development and verification of software. 
Typical applications are related to Video management, Graphics generation, GUI Design and development, Maps, Video and data recording and Image Processing. 
Your role:
You will be involved in the whole process of development, from requirement to design and verification. Your job will include specification and documentation of design. 
The work will be performed in close collaboration with team leader, project managers and software team members. You will report to the team leader and your line manager.

Your skills and experience
Your qualifications:
You are an engineer with a university education with the emphasis on embedded systems. You are ambitious and result-oriented.
You also have a good knowledge of English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing. This position involves working with Swedish defence classified information and therefore requires Swedish citizenship. It is an advantage if you have some years´ experience in programming of safety-critical functions for embedded systems.
You have a general interest in engineering and you want to work with products in the technological forefront.
You feel comfortable and want to develop in an environment that is full of action and also is characterized of openness and freedom with responsibility. 
Technical competences needed in this role

Programming in C/C++
Embedded systems
Graphics software, OpenGL
RTOS e.g. VxWorks and Linux
Software architectural design
Preferable application experience within Video management, Maps, Recording, Image Processing and GUI
