Database Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role :

The role is strategic in the sense that you will help define service offerings and delivery methodologies, while also being engaged in the day-to-day delivery of services, both as an individual contributor and with other engineers.

We are looking for someone that does not fit in any of the "traditional" roles of DBA or DB developer. We are looking for you that know how to install, set up, manage, improve, design, and configure different database solutions in cloud environments. You are comfortable working as a system administrator with an emphasis on database implementations.

About the team:

You will work in our Customer Implementation team where we have architects and engineers in various areas of competencies. We are a team driven by helping our customers with both designing solutions and also working on the installation for them. We work closely with our customers to always be able to contribute as much value as possible.

Responsibilities:

Our team is responsible for our company's managed services offering and we offer professional consulting services. Hence you will be responsible for contributing to driving our managed DB services. You will also be implementing customer DB solutions. You ought to have an interest in and be willing to improve and contribute upstream to open source projects.

Requirement/ Must have :

We work with all sorts of Database solutions, but mainly

• MySQL
• MariaDB
• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB

You will need to have good knowledge of some of the above-mentioned database solutions, both in single node setup as well as clustered solutions. You should have an interest in learning the others.

Good to have:

Good knowledge of setting up and managing MSSQL in a high availability mode is a huge benefit.

We are an OpenStack cloud provider, and as you will work solely in cloud environments, it would to your advantage if you feel comfortable with some Infrastructure as Code tools like:

*Script (sh, csh, bash, zsh, fish, etc)

*Ansible

*Terraform

*Python
