CTO for SchoolTry AB

SchoolTry is an EdTech startup that aims to digitise the school administration process across African countries.

As the Chief Technology Officer, you will be required to make high level decisions regarding our technology infrastructure and ensure that they are in alignment with our business goals.

You will oversee a team of developers in daily operations.

You will be expected to set the expectations and goals for developers as well as provide guidance and support.

You will be expected to manage the companies technology roadmap and provide progress reports to members of the executive team.

You will be responsible for ensuring the security and sanctity of our technology infrastructure and making forays in research and development.

You will be expected to make decisions that will promote cost savings in the use of technology.

As a member of the executive team, you will be expected to develop technical strategies that encourage business growth.

You should be able to demonstrate good business acumen and interpersonal skills.

You will be expected to network and help generate leads and partnerships.

Required skills:

Degree in Computer science

At least 5 years experience building and managing realworld applications using Laravel and Vue.js.

Experience using AWS.

Experience in leading and managing development teams.

Experience in using Agile methodologies

Fluency in English and a native Nigerian language

Strong leadership skills to effectively steer a company’s technological efforts and developments

Strong decision-making skills to make choices that directly impact a company’s profitability

An in-depth understanding of a company’s challenges and objectives to effectively align technical strategies

Excellent organisational skills to successfully coordinate the efforts of an IT department

The ability to think strategically, anticipate future developments and provide technical vision

Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to cope with the multifaceted nature of the job

A willingness to stay up to date regarding the latest technological advances

A solid understanding of business processes and functions
