The scheduling of crew and fleet for large airlines are very complex processes. These processes can be modeled as large combinatorial optimization problems which require complex exact and heuristic solution methods. The resulting schedules must comply with all contractual and safety rules, and at the same time be as efficient as possible with respect to cost, crew satisfaction and operational robustness. As part of the optimization team, you work in the team responsible for maintenance and development of the core optimization module that is common for all customers using our optimization products. The tasks will consist of everything from mathematical modeling and design to implementation, testing, performance tuning and maintenance.
This position requires the successful candidate to be an expert C++ developer with good engineering judgment and a passion for solving hard problems. A deep expertise in optimization and algorithms is a given. You should be goal-oriented and dare to take initiative. You are also expected to combine technical excellence with above average communication skills.
- MSc, with minimum 5 years of working experience with optimization applications.
- Strong C++ skills
- PhD in Optimization or Physics
- Worked with large and technically complex code bases
