Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our inspiring and talented team based in Kiruna and Solna. In that case we can offer you a unique opportunity to take part in advancing the Swedish space industry. As part of the SAMS SW development team you will participate in the launch and operation of different types of space missions.

YOUR ROLE

In your role as Software Engineer, you will work in the team that develop and maintain our ground system SW and support set-up of new missions.

You will be involved in both definition and development of new SW and tools as well as maintaining and extending the current system for planning and handling satellite communication and control. You will also aid the project managers in setting up new missions which have customer specific requirements and provide SW support to everyday operations of the control center and antenna systems.

Work outside normal work hours may be needed intermittently, to support launches and LEOPS

We believe you have:

• A good proficiency in the English and Swedish language
• A Computer/Software Engineering university degree minimum at BS level or corresponding experience in software engineering
• Minimum 3 years post-university working experience in software design and development
• Experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development

Required knowledge:

• Object-Oriented programming, minimum C++, JAVA and Python
• API development using RESTFul(JSON/XML), Websocket framework
• Experience of Scrum & Agile Methodologies
• Experience of using JIRA and GIT
• Unit testing frameworks
• Proficient in developing in Linux environment
• Excellent analysing and problem-solving skills

We would consider it a bonus should you also have:

• Prior experience in the space sector
• Nginx
• Microservices
• PostGreSQL or MySQL management and interfaces
• Web application (specifically React) development

LOCATION

The SW team is mainly based in Kiruna and Solna, with extensive cooperation with our office in Horsham USA. The Kiruna part of the team will in the coming year re-locate the office from Esrange Space Center to Kiruna city-center.

Working remotely may also be possible, providing willingness to travel.
