JOB DESCRIPTION

Xylem is now looking for a Junior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.

In this role, you will be part of the development team that designs Xylem’s next-generation control systems and the ecosystem around them. Control systems are core components supporting and securing that our customers have a reliable process running with high energy efficiency. Smart feature from machine to cloud ensures economy over their entire lifespan. In Xylem, you will work in a creative and international environment where you get the opportunity to focus on your personal and professional development together with committed and helpful colleagues. 

You will belong to a small team and work closely in cross-functional teams that consist of Product Owners, Test Engineers, and other Software Engineers. The team is located at Xylems Head Quarter in Sundbyberg with close cooperation with their manufacturing site in Emmaboda.

In detail, you will:

• Develop and deliver Xylem’s innovative control features to the latest version of their products and our platform using C/C++.
• Work in the lab to understand the requirements of upcoming features.
• Work in a cross-functional team and cooperate with colleagues from other disciplines such as Test engineers and Software engineers.
• Belong to a team with senior expertise in this field.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent level of knowledge.
• Knowledge of embedded systems programming in C/C++.
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
• Experience in working with Scrum, Jira, etc.
• Interest in the hardware side. 

It is not a requirement, but an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge and experience working in Python.
• Experience with real-time operating systems such as Zephyr.
• Development experience with unit testing and static code analysis tools such as CPP check, PC Lint, or similar.
• Experience with working in Git.
• Project besides studies to show up.

EMPLOYMENT:

This is a consulting assignment meaning you will initially be employed by Friday. The ambition is for the assignment to result in permanent employment after the consultancy period.
