We are now looking for an embedded developer to join our New Video Products department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Being a developer at Axis means that you will be working with new technology in a very talented and devoted team of developers. We offer a fast-paced, innovative, team-oriented culture characterized by openness, with plenty of opportunities to grow as a professional and as an individual.
The New Video Products department is running the projects developing the new network video products according to Axis’ product roadmap. We are responsible for developing the complete products, based on our platforms to mass production. You will participate in these projects as a software engineer, where you will have great opportunities to influence the outcome of our development efforts.
Your responsibilities will be to:
* Be a key player in the development of our products
* Translate requirements into features that can be developed
* Perform analysis, design, implementation and write unit tests of new functionality that solves our customers’ requirements
* Integrate and verify software created by other Axis departments
* Perform advanced debugging of complete embedded systems
* Have fun.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine interest in programming and a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar. You have experience from C-programming in a Linux environment.
Furthermore, we think you are a creative, open-minded and result-oriented person that can work well on your own and in a team. As teamwork is crucial for Axis, it’s important that you can contribute to a good team spirit in a high-pressure environment. Your communication and listening skills are excellent. You have a strong sense of responsibility and are good at taking initiative.
In addition to the above, experience from some of the following areas is desirable:
* Embedded systems development, and the use of debugging tools such as gdb
* Low-level programming, Linux kernel, device drivers, input/output, networking protocols, etc.
* Configuration management in an open source environment, Git, Gerrit, etc.
* Photography, optics and image sensor technology
* Electronics and computer hardware, reading schematic charts.
