Technical Cobol Developer - Stockholm

Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Technical Cobol Developer to work with application infrastructure, our general system as well as login / authentication, business, event and support logging and our organisation’s COBOL framework. You’ll work with central systems and obtain a greater understanding of how the whole is connected.

Through further development of our COBOL framework, you will also contribute to giving all COBOL developers a more efficient baseplate that will increase productivity for all developers.

What you'll do:

● Design, develop and maintain Mainframe Cobol, z/OS, IMS, SQL, and DB2 to meet support and/or project requirements.

● Providing technical mainframe competence, gathering functional and non-functional requirements from the stakeholders and document such requirements.

● Developing efficient & quality assured software according to design and business requirements within agreed time frame.

● Aligning and coordinating delivery with product owner, product team colleagues and tech leads to ensure consistency in solutions.

● Collaborating within and outside the product team to secure resilient solutions and shared technical design.

● Providing technical design and guidance – Code Review, Test Automation, DevOps best practices.

Who you are:

● Candidate should hold BSc or equivalent training/experience in Computer Science or other relevant subject area along with 8+ years of industry experience.

● Possess working experience of software development, testing and operational management (Design/Build/Maintain/DevOps) of IT systems/applications.

● Furthermore, 4-7 years of development and maintenance experience in Cobol and IMB mainframe is also a requirement. (Cobol, JCL and IMS DB (DL1) databases)

● Technological experience in within the agile methodology SAFe, technology stack like Java, SQL databases, integration & development architecture like API management and microservices.

● Additional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, manufacturing and/or automotive industry is meritorious.

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a global environment.

● Excellent mentoring skills and can write and speak in English language (Preference will be given to Swedish language).
