Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Our manager for the Digitalisation and IS/IT Coordination team will be on parental leave from February to September next year. During his absence we would like to have your help to take care of a kind-hearted team that together covers a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and roles; operating in a cross functional and global work environment.

There are many opportunities to develop your skills and grow within the team – both within your team of direct reports and in the unit’s production engineering leadership team. To ensure that you feel safe in this journey is my main purpose as your manager during this period.

Digitalisation is one focus area and there are many strategic initiatives in the electric powertrain and transmission assembly organisation. The purpose of the unit is to provide possibilities – through IT systems and solutions – for the local organisation to implement new ways of working. The focus is on digital solutions, increase the knowledge in digitalisation and establish a stable IT environment without impact on direct run in our operations.

Job Description

The assignment is to drive growth and strategic renewal by transforming and accelerate the organisation’s traditional analogue businesses into digital ones, with a special focus on creating new value through the use of digital tools, platforms, technologies, services, and processes.

Your day-to-day activities and duties include:

• Lead, develop, and care for the people at the Digitalisation and IS/IT coordination office.
• Responsible for the development and realisation of the roadmap by executing our strategic initiatives in order for us to take the driver seat position in shopfloor IT setup.
• Inspire, coach, and lead the digitalisation education efforts in a production unit with more than a thousand people.
• Manage the production information system architecture setup at the factory.
• Eliminate disturbances connected to IT with the aim to safeguard direct run and uptime in our operations.
• Manage team operations such as LayCAD, digital test assembly, IS/IT coordination, local product ownership, IT project management.
• Together with IT managers from sister units and central IT govern the progress of component assembly value stream.

Profile

We believe you have

• a curious and assertive leadership style; you are utilising growth, inclusion, teamwork, and collaboration as your main tools to reach the desired state.
• enthusiasm and experience in developing strategic initiatives – explaining the path towards sustainable transports.
• understanding and the willingness to learn more in how the production system works and its interfaces towards IT.
• clarity in the way you think and communicate. English is required since this is the main language spoken in the team. You will be aided by at least a basic understanding in Swedish.
• technical aptitude and a strive to understand the system setup for our production and logistic processes.
• an interest in your own personal development.

 

Previous working experience from Scania is regarded as a merit.
