Your role

Command and Control West is growing and expanding to Saabs brand new site in Halmstad. We are looking for one or more senior developers to help establish our department at the new site. Your role is to be a senior member of our new team in Halmstad and together with your team use Java to create and update applications and interfaces for Command, Control and Communication (C3) in the Ground Based Air Defene (GBAD) domain (luftvärn in Swedish).

The team you will be part of consists of 6-8 developers with about half of the team using the Halmstad office as home base. The team have a mix in age and experience and although some team members may have more specific rolls (tester, architect, etc.) The team have a cross-functional mindset and works together to solve their tasks.

Our teams are given a lot of freedom to find the best technical solutions, supported by experts and the rest of the department. As a senior developer, you will be asked to take a leading role in designing technical solutions and helping the team to be successful in their work.

Your profile

To succeed in this role, you are a self-motivated person used to collaborating within your team as well as with other stakeholders. To thrive in our department you are a developer that finds it rewarding working with complex software in a large codebase. You have at least five or more years of experience of working as a software developer within the area of complex system development. Experience with communication interfaces is very positive, and tactical data links even more so, but is not an requirement.

You are a structured person with the ability to prioritize. You take responsibility to deliver both your own work but also that of your team. Your passion lies in finding the best solutions to complex problems, and implementing those solutions together with your team. You are a good communicator, fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Required skills:

Bachelor degree or work experience in similar roles and tasks

5+ years of experience working with Java
*

Experiences from programming in large complex systems

Usefull skills:

Experience in tactical data links, or data links
*

Experience in helping other developers grow
*

Knowledge in low level network protocols
*

Knowledge of Jira, Git, Jenkins and/or Docker
*

Understanding of requirement and compliance work

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

What you will be a part of

You will be part of the development of Command, Control and Communication systems for our radars used in the ground base air defence domain. The department consists of approximately 65 employees and consultants and we plan to grow. We have the whole chain of competences from demand to delivery within our department.
