Vehicle Systems and On-board Computing Engineer

Job description

You will own the on-board vehicle computing solution, consisting of electronic control units and display hardware, to the operating system and application software and communication. This will be your baby!

The role includes setting the architecture of the on-board vehicle electronics, and you will be our go-to-expert in this area. You will likely need to get your hands dirty from time to time and work hands-on with advising and helping the workshop team with installations and configuration work in the vehicle.

Responsibilities include:

- Requirement and specification management of the vehicle computing solution

- Installation and testing of prototypes

- Provide input to sourcing as well as aftermarket and support

You will work closely to a range of specialists, from vehicle assembly technicians (workshop), to telematics and software experts.

You are a passionate and skilled Vehicle Systems Engineer and Architect for on-board vehicle computing who wants lead and grow this area. You have a passion for green transformation within the automotive and transport industry.

You have a holistic view, and approach challenges with enthusiasm and a willingness to try new methods. You are energised by working in a startup environment, and are ready to take action and create structure where needed.

- Likes hands-on work on vehicles (wiring, electric installations etc.)

Competencies and skills

- Master/Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar

- Vehicle computer hardware architecture

- Vehicle applications architecture incl. operative systems

- CAN-bus protocol and vehicle internal data communications

Experiences

- 3+ years as a System Engineer, Architect or similar within vehicle electrification

- Requirements management within the electrical domain

- SW/HW architecture and familiarity with control units for electric vehicles

- Familiarity with signal data handling and translations (CAN data etc.)

- System safety
