Cyber Security Engineer to safeguard our data

Prisjakt recently turned 20 years old and during these two decades we’ve gathered a plethora of products and environments that help support the service we provide, both for price comparing users and for the shops that partner with us. Our large user and customer base means that we have lots and lots of data and insights. We want to make sure they're safe and that’s why we need you.

Our challenge is to improve on how we keep both data and applications secure. This is where you come in. Due to that we are owned by Schibsted, this position will collaborate with the Security team of Schibsted.

So what will you be getting yourself into?

We are currently on a journey to move more and more of our environments to the cloud - specifically GCP solutions (but you might find a stray AWS solution, sorry). We’ve come a long way already, but there are some on-prem servers still running.

Our user facing products are several - but to mention a few stacks we have a web app built in React with a GraphQL layer which is what most users find themselves on. We also have native apps built with Java/Kotlin and Swift respectively. Our newer API’s are built in node.js, but core functions are also provided through a monolithic PHP API.

All these cool things are hosted on our own GitLab where we also have our CI/CD pipelines. As you might be able to tell, we're on a journey to update and upgrade our tech stack and we need your help to keep things secure along the way.

What you bring to the table

We’re looking for someone with the ability to see and create the needs and changes that will make all the difference. Since this is a new role at Prisjakt you need to be the kind of person who likes starting fresh and has a strong sense of self leadership. And of course you have a safety first mindset - without being a total snoozefest..

Skillset

- Knowledge in Agnostic programming

- Previous hands-on experience working with security

- Education within the IT security field

- Strong communication skills as this role requires being the internal ambassador for cyber security and you’ll collaborate both within Prisjakt and Schibsted group
