About this opportunity

The Test Development department at Ericsson Borås is looking for a Data Scientist to boost our industrial processes and the product development by developing methods and tools for analyzing our production test data (continuously generated by our test processes).

It will be your job to build data products for automation, visualization and analysis of data collected from our ongoing operations and available through our data repositories. Your work will help us in extracting valuable business insights for improvements and future innovation efforts and help us advance as a data driven organization.

One of the key success factors of your efforts could be the ability to identify the importance of the different parameters on our test flows to help our teams to use edge computing to preprocess and optimize data in constrained environments (e.g. sensors). You are most likely also highly analytical with excellent skills in mathematics and statistics. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential for interpreting data.

Long term you will be the main driver and promoter of the application and use of data science in the department. Apart from technical skills your interpersonal skills will be an important part of this role. You will be the one who communicates with both internal and external stakeholders promoting the use of data science and identifying its uses in different settings.

What you will do

• Driver of development and implementation of Data Science Infrastructure & Tools
• Undertake data collection, preprocessing and analysis
• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques
• Present information using data visualization techniques
• Build models to address business problems
• Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
• Collaborate with engineering, product development and data analytic teams
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Lead studies and promote creative usage of new and/or existing data sources. Work with Test Designers to leverage existing data models and build new ones as needed.

You will bring

• Minimum B.Sc in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or related field
• Experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
• An analytical mind with business acumen
• A problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to find and grasp new possibilities
• Programming skills in languages such as Python, Databricks, GIT, Tableau, Excel, Elasticsearch
• Knowledge of agile ways of working
• Team worker
• Great analytical skills
• Good communicator and presenter
• Socially driven and collaborative
• Curious to explore new arenas
• High willingness to learn, experiment and share knowledge
• English language (fluent)
