As an Open-Source Software Engineering Advisor, 

- You are a senior System developer / tester with several years of technical experience and familiarity with multiple programming languages and environments.

- You have 2 to 3 years of experience around Open-source and inner-source development along with a proven track record of working in successful and widely recognized Open Source project / community.

- You have leadership experience including coaching and mentoring.

- You are fluent with GIT, Github and are familiar with FOSS compliance tools like Blackduck.

- You are familiar working with agile, JIRA, and CI/CD principles.

- You are comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders such as engineers, product management, and legal.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an Open-Source Software Engineering Advisor, you will be part of driving the Digital Technology’s agenda by enabling products and services based on business needs within Ingka and Inter-IKEA Systems. You will lead and empower teams to deliver maximum value to the user with measurable impact. 

Your tasks will include: 

- Providing support and guidance to units, product teams, service areas and co-workers with regards to upstream open-source contributions and inner source.

- Identifying open-source projects and communities that are beneficial for IKEA contributions.

- Managing IKEA’s open-source presence on Github and other platforms by open-sourcing our own IPs.

- Advocating the release of open-source projects and maintaining of healthy open-source communities through documentation, workshops, and other internal events.

- Increasing awareness of OSPO by nurturing Open Source community internally and outside IKEA by increasing involvement in Open Source community.

In this role you will report to the Service Manager in Engineering Services.
