The job

At BA Markets business decisions are made with a very high frequency around the clock and as a consequence of this there is huge potential in automating systems and making them smarter.

As our new Data Scientist you will work in a team that focuses on making our systems smarter! We do this by providing data-driven and Machine Learning- based intelligence. You will work with both data and ML-infrastructure and specialize in building and operating ML models. Your work will have direct and measurable business impact. In this role you will have a great chance to impact the direction of Vattenfall’s and BA Markets’ digital transformation.

What you’ll do

  • MODELS - Develop Machine Learning and operationally run models for energy market use-cases such as price forecasts and trading algos.
  • COOP - Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to make sure our models and processes are up-to-date and are fulfilling business needs
  • ML OPS - Use and further professionalise our framework for operations of ML models. Focus on monitoring and safe operations
  • DATA - Make sure that our data is available in an ML-ready format and that we are using the right infrastructure for the interplay between data and models


Qualifications


We believe you have

  • Professional experience in applying Machine Learning methods on real business use-cases
  • Strong communication skills and the willingness to interact with colleagues, stakeholders and other data-driven departments
  • Proficient programming skills in Python
  • Understanding of the operational work associated with running ML models in live production
  • A data oriented mindset, with knowledge about tools like Azure, Databricks, Airflow and Kafka
  • Academic degree in data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar
  • Fluency in English. Swedish language skills are an advantage

We work internationally from our locations in Stockholm, Hamburg, and Amsterdam. The Data Science team is a team of analysts whose purpose is to drive data-driven decision automation. By combining data engineering and machine learning methods, the team strives to leverage the vast data Vattenfall has access to.
